Let's clear up any billing confusion!
When riding with Spin, there may be a temporary hold that will drop off within 1-3 business days (depending on your bank). For clarity, the pre-authorization hold amount is not being charged to your card or bank — It is simply a hold to verify your payment method on file!
Once you have completed your ride, Spin releases this charge immediately. The only charge you will be billed for is your unlock fee and actual riding time.
If riding on weekends or holidays, please keep in mind that the hold will not process till the next business day.
Important things to note:
- The hold is used to verify user accounts.
- The hold amount may vary between different markets.
- The hold is completely separate from your actual Spin charge, and thus not a charge on the services rendered.
- The hold usually drops off instantaneously, but some financial institutions may take longer to drop the hold.
